And I am bisexual and basically never read femslash*, not for any other reason than I don't have a lot of F/F pairings, I never find written sex stimulating either, so it might be that?

Oh and M/F sex scenes in Fanfics often is odd for me, that probably goes back to The Earth Children series tbh (and/or that it really does not match up to my real life experiences), never read that when you are too young, sex scenes will then automatically make you feel awkward....

Then again, why make assumptions on people based on their fanfics (or porn for that matter) preferences, they don't always match up to real life, which is at least personally part of why I read fanfiction...

*That is the right word right? Lady on lady lovin'...

I want a femslash OTP. I read tons of femslash for the smut but the popular ships (Swanqueen, Faberry, Rizzles) do nothing for me and I want to read fics that pull my heartstrings. Sorry for the off topic...

Never ever be sorry for off topic things, dear Anon! I enjoy it, and I would love to have a Femslash OTP, but as it stands, I barely ship any F/F pairings, and those I do are mostly for fandoms I don't currently read Fanfiction for.

Good luck on your Quest (Journey/Adventure?) to find a Femslash OTP Anon! I am sure you will find one you love one day!

Thank you! I feel girded for more searching. ;)

If you're in the OUAT fandom, maybe try Mulan/Aurora? It's not a juggernaut like SwanQueen, but I find the fic cuter and the attitude of the shippers more relaxed; there's no "if you don't ship our ship you're a homophobe, even if you're not straight yourself."

(Anonymous) 2013-09-21 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried OUAT but the Belle/Rumplestiltskin plotline threw me so bad, I couldn't watch anymore. I'm thinking about trying again for Mulan/Aurora (especially if the fic is cute). Maybe I'll give it a shot, anon, cause your reasons are convincing. :)

I want to read fics that pull my heartstrings.

I think I get you on this. I need more f/f stories that are written like m/m stories. Long, full of UST, making us work for the relationship. I'm not sure if I'm getting this exactly right. Homestuck fandom has a decent amount though, Gunnerkrigg Court has a canon one but it's a long story that covers a lot of ground so that's a very small part of it, but it definitely tugs on my heartstrings. There's Marceline/Bubblegum in Adventure Time (for additional backstory, read the 6 issue comic Marceline and the Scream Queens).

These are all comics and cartoons, sorry. It's okay if you're not into that.

You hit the nail on the head- I love UST and the struggle to attain the ship! Thanks for the recommendations. I'm checking out Gunnerkrigg Court right now. :)

Oh gosh, good! I hope you like it, it's my favorite overall webcomic and one of the best if not the best queer narrative I've read. It'll probably take you 2 or 3 days to catch up with the current page, it's a few years old and is posted monday, wednesday and friday.

eta: uh I should also add, if there is a treasure trove of amazing Gunnerkrigg femslash fanfic, I have yet to find it.

I'm a bisexual woman too who rarely reads femslash, but for another reason…

It's too well written.

I love the shmoopy clichés that so many het and slash fics have, the cool boy that falls in love with the nerdy girl, the rich guy that saves the poor male prostitute from the street. It's stupid and sappy, but I read and watch a lot of deep, meaningful books, movies and shows. I go to fanfics for mindless fun.

I can hardly find any mindless fun in femslash in my fandoms! It's all either deep and classy and intricate, or one shot smuts. What I wouldn't give to see my F/F pair in a highschool Au where one of them is a super popular deep in the closet cheerleader, and the other is the bookworm anti social dork she has a super huge cliché crush on.

Oh God! I have never thought about that, but now that you mention it, there is another reason to why I don't read a lot of femslash.

I really love all the examples you gave, I just want them to somehow end up together in a tiny bit cliched way, and I love most of the tropes (except when they are overdone in one fandom)! I just like knowing in a way how the next chapter or the end will happen, not saying I don't like the long plot ridden fanfics too, but I need to be in a specific mood to read them. The most entertaining fanfic I read lately was a Tony Stark/Agent Coulson one, where Tony makes Coulson fall in love with him because he is great at baking, it was (Is? I don't think it is completely finished just yet) just fun and lighthearted.

And damnit now I want the High School AU you described! It would be awesome!!!

I study film and television, I don't need to have that much depth in my fanfics... I get enough of it in my day to day activities

This makes me happy. Sometimes I think writing fun, self-indulgent f/f original fiction is going to get me nowhere in the writing career I hope to have. But you've given me encouragement.

Although I'm not really into the high school setting.

na

Can this fic you speak of be found online somewhere? ;)

I want this story right now. I love all the hookerfic, too. Oh geeze.

Watch Warehouse 13. Then go online and find all that -- and more!
