Yeah, I think it's pretty fucking weird for a straight person to find all het boring considering they are going to be forming a heterosexual relationship somewhere down the line.

If you're not straight, then that's a different story.

you sound like a real peach. not at all like a judgmental, immature brat who's pouty that her sweeping view on How The World Works is being challenged by people with actual other experiences.

Damn. You seem really offended.

Sorry for thinking it's weird for a straight person to think het is boring? LOL.

DA

Not being interested in het in fanfic =/= not bring interested in het at all. I wish people would stop mapping other people's fanfic interests onto all other areas of their life (including forms of entertainment other than fanfic).

I know this is really hard for your tiny little brain to understand.

But what people like to read or like in their porn

Very rarely dictates what they want in real life.

But you seem to be struggling with this idea so really the entire problem is you

You seem to think that everyone enjoys porn by imagining themselves as one of the participants. Some people enjoy porn in a more voyeuristic manner, and don't pretend to be one of the participants -- thus, they find it more important to be attracted to all the participants in the sex act. Not everyone masturbates the same way you do, OP.

This. People enjoy smut in a million different ways, identify (or don't) with one of the characters or both at once. Some people view the story as if they're a camera hovering on the ceiling. Some people do all of these things depending on the story or the fandom or the POV character, changing it around. All of these things have a bearing on the genre they'll be into reading.

OP has a very simplistic view of the psychology of fandom.
