Also, people seem to have a shallow idea of what a more OC friendly comm would actually discuss. Ideally we would be able to discuss things like theories on how the world works, or ideas of the fictional culture world expanding stuff.

I've discussed this sort of thing in general communities. I've discussed this sort of thing in SHIPPING communities.

Talking about "the lore" in general communities is pretty common, in my experience. It's the OC part that throws people.

I suppose.

But I have been told a million times "I don't know who an OC is so I don't care" and I get it when it comes to shipping OCs and OC RP. But I don't get the point of getting angry if some say asks a question like.

"So I'm writing a fic of daily life for people in District 3 anybody have any thoughts for portraying the general life and culture of people there."
