I'm so confused as to why this is even a thing. Of all things, you decided to play with Sleepy Hollow?? And, apparently, make it into a series??? I- wait wait but why. That's such a strange idea.

considering they did the obvious thing and stuck it into a modern day universe with cops i'm

not surprised at all

i'm just incredibly disappointed

Yeah, I think I'd be more interested if it were an actual historical series, supernatural elements and all. I am just so not into in the modern day cop au (OUAT anyone?)

Those are in right now. Hannibal (to an extent), Sherlock, Elementary, OUAT, now this one.

ouat gets a pass in my book because emma is the farthest thing from an actual cop

technically she's just another disney princess

Me too. I love horror series, but I'm so over the cop thing that I didn't even bother to watch the show. Honestly, writers, there are other professions and other ways to make a series interesting than centering everything around law enforcement.

Probably because it is already a pretty established story and public domain.

Yeah, point taken.

Why not? It might not lend itself to the international market but The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is popular in the US as well as American Revolution. Especially figures like Washington. American audiences like to see different takes with their history. (See Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.)

I can see some network executive thinking, "We practically have a built in audience for this already, stateside, so, let's greenlight it."

It's in the public domain. That's pretty much it.

Plenty of previous adaptations isn't there? I haven't seen this show yet but I don't see why it's odd...
