I'm no good with supernatural horror in tv series (Supernatural, Buffy etc) and I'm not interested in American History

Hmmm, I think you probably wouldn't like it then. To me it's a mix of Elementary, Supernatural, and National Treasure with possibly a tiny bit of the movie version of Dark Shadows thrown in (I haven't seen it, but the commercials remind me a lot of it)? I love it so far but from what you've said it doesn't sound like your kind of thing.
