I disagree that DW could fit reasonably. I find myself wondering how would the Doctor explain angels and demons? How would he explain the spells Sam and Dean use on a routine basis? What would Weeping angels be in relation to Heavenly angels?

Please, when crossing over a sci-fi fandom and a fantasy fandom, please decide if you're going to go with the science explanation or the magic explanation, and give a bit of a sign so those of us who keep wondering about such things can stop worrying about which mindset we're reading the fic in.

Compared to that, a thin excuse for why Sherlock and John are in America, or the Winchesters are in England is less of a worry, and it is far too easy to think that once you've come up with an excuse for that, that Sherlock, as soon as he deduces Sam and Dean do some weird shit, would want to stay around to find out more about that weird shit.

Sherlock meeting the Doctor is even easier, since you don't have to make up an excuse for why they're in the same country, since the Doctor seems to like Britain in particular.

It could probably be spun that the Supernatural is explained by Aliens. Therefore, angels are just less dangerous descendants of Weeping Angels, which God being the first of that line.

I have already seen a fic where the Weeping Angels are fallen angels.

I can easily imagine angels to be some sort of energy being that maybe the Doctor has a name and/or explanation for. I can allow some wiggle for places like Heaven, Hell and Purgatory being other dimensions that are not as cut off as DW makes out most alternate universes to be.

I just want to see fic writers put little of this sort of thought into their fics.
