I know when someone I am online friends with disappears for a while - even without notice - my first thought is "Real Life must be suddenly busy for them.". I am happy to go reading fic until they pop up again and say what distracted them.

Even so, online friendships can be casual and fickle things. Maybe your circle of friends do not consider it to be close enough to be freaking out about you disappearing for a while.

It could be any of these things.
