This movie was awful.

I went to watch it with a friend, because she's a fan of the books.

I had never read the books, so I had no damn clue what was going on. The plot was an incoherent mess, I couldn't care less about the characters.

It felt like watching a bad fanfiction. I was thinking "Oh, there's Draco. There's Harry. There's Ginny. There's Voldemort."

When the bad guy turned the ring upside down to reveal it was actually an 'M', I had to use all my willpower not to laugh out loud.

But I'll probably go see the midnight screening of the sequel, because what are friends for?

Omg I laughed so hard at that "reveal". I wish he could have just gone "NUH-UH!" and turned it back around. "SEE IT'S A W!"

I was basically in the same situation as you were. A friend who read the books took me to watch it with her. I knew it was a mess, but oh well, friendship.

We were 10 people in one room, and we snarked at the movie and had so much fun.

I kept thinking, "This is from Buffy. Hey, this is from the second episode of Buffy! (Sewer escape scene.) Hi there, stuffy older librarian dude in a big library!"

Is there even going to be a sequel? I heard it didn't do too well at the box office

DA

They have "delayed production" of the movie. AKA we are going to act like this mess never happened and hope it disappears.

It was Harry Potter fanfiction once, soooo...

The books are pretty awful too, tbh. I had little hope the movie would be any better.
