Uh, no, it has nothing to do with nostalgia goggles. ATLA WAS pretty good, and even if it wasn't a masterpiece, it avoided a lot of the pitfalls that Korra has not been able to climb out of since last season. Just the regular progression of plot and character development was miles above what Korra delivered last season.

That said, last season did not leave a good, solid base for second season, and even though I think this new season could actually show the characters developing, it's frustrating to have to go through the same issues again.
