Re: Korra crew member vs Tumblr

I haven't actually watched all of ATLA (I missed a lot of book one and a chunk of book three), so it's definitely not nostalgia here - and I ADORED Korra when it started (both the show and the character!). My main issue with it is that it started out extraordinarily promising - showing that there are actual issues that arise when part of the population has powers that others don't, a chance for the protagonist to actually grow, likeable characters...

And I'm trying hard not to go, "Well, I'm never watching again!" because we've really only seen fifteen episodes out of what'll eventually be fifty-something, but I do think it's gone downhill compared to the extremely strong beginning. I'm comparing it to its own first book, and even as late as episode eight I was thinking it was awesome. It's really just been lately that it's become a letdown, and especially this book so far.

When I said nostalgia, I meant that I think it's nostalgia goggles that are making ATLA seem like this amazing show, when it was just okay. The first season was awful, the third season was full of filler episodes and that terrible deus ex machina ending it had was just cringe worthy.
