in what way? i haven't watched the LLS in a while but there was never anything that made me think craig's racist. he always introduces male guests by talking up their talent and his female guests tend to just get 'the beautiful _____!' line. that was something that always bothered me once i noticed it.

My feeling about Ferguson has always been that he's someone who's basically unpolitical and uninterested or unaware of social justice stuff and all that kind of thing, but who's also just basically a decent person. So he'll do stuff like that sometimes, but at the end of the day, I don't think his show is anything bad. I think it's possible for someone to make something decent and to behave acceptably without being politically aware, without being conscious, and I think that's pretty much what Craig Ferguson is.

i agree. i used to watch the LLS all the time and he seems like the nicest guy, and i don't think he'd ever say anything genuinely hurtful or offensive intentionally. i was just commenting that that was one of the few things that i've seen happen on the show that irked me.

The worst I really recall was Mayim Bialick was not offended, but uncomfortable because he kept talking about her sexy sleeves (she adheres to Orthodox Judaism rules of modesty, and sometimes gets clothes altered to have sheer, elbow length sleeves added; on top of that, the general principle of a man to whom you are not married making comments about you being 'sexy' would be frowned upon -- and she gets some really crazy Orthodox people tweeting/leaving comments when they think she's shown too much clavicle, and should be kicked out of Orthodox temples). I think that was more an issue of him just not realizing how it was making her uncomfortable, not him being deliberately mean.

I have never heard of him being racist, but his interviews with women aren't very good.
