The DCAU - I mean, beyond the endless Batman re-imaginings - and all the smart, mature fantasy animation of similar quality (you know, Gargoyles, Marvel animated universe, Samurai Jack, all that kind of good shit that was in vogue in the nineties and early millenium). The voice actors I grew up with, too - I mean, hearing Batman and Superman and the Joker without their signature actors is like a punch in the balls sometimes. Serious adult Western animation like Aeon Flux! I really hate that the idea in the West that animation is by default for families or kids, or if it's for adults, it has to be comedy, is still so prevalent. If there was one thing I was hoping the anime craze would choke to death, it was that, but no such luck.

I dunno, I was a cartoon junkie as a kid and it continues today, I could go on and on about this, but I'm just gonna go hug my Young Justice DVDs and cry.
