I occasionally leave pretty harsh reviews on fanfics that portray my favourite characters in ridiculously shitty ways. I'll usually try to compliment something in the writing because I feel bad about it, but I'll go to town on the characterization.

I leave polite, detailed harsh reviews on badfics explaining why the fic 'didn't work for me'. No regrets here. I leave a lot of detailed reviews so I just don't see why I shouldn't leave negative ones as well as positive (that said, I'd guess about 95% of the reviews I leave are positive).

I normally don't believe in reviewing too harshly. But I saw this gross fanfic where "since Ginny poisoned Harry and the kids for money (which she'd never do IC) that means Harry has to go back in time to when after Ron is born and sterilize Molly somehow, because Ginny is pure evil and cannot be redeemed."

There only seemed to be people pointing out how AWESOME and DEEP the stupid plot was , so I sent a review saying that the Ginny was "so OOC she may as well be an OC, either create one or pick someone else as the wife" and pointed out that the plot was a stupid idea and messed up.
