Need more info

What exactly are you talking about that you consider consensual that others consider rape? I mean, are we talking crazy extremists that all sex involving a penis is rape? Or are we talking drunk/high/incapacitated/date rape type of thing? So like do the SJWs you've run into just not like jokes about sex at all?

i'm kind confused about what OP is actually going on about. but wasn't the beginning of Starfighter pretty much about a coercive relationship...? i don't know how things developed later because i didn't actually give a fuck about keeping up with the series.

iirc cain was forceful but abel never said no and he did want it, so no rape

lol I get this is fiction we're talking about and YMMV but even so it sure had a dub-con vibe to me. Also, "never said no" is not the same as consent tbh.

Well he also got undressed of his own initiative and took active part and said "please I want it inside me" and "ah yeah right there" and "ah~ please~" and talked about a next time before cuddling
If that's not consent I don't know what is

god this is what happens when you try to argue over shit from 6 years ago...

MTE.

Re: Need more info

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

uh yeah thats why i added "he did want it"

that... that's consent

Someone once screamed at me that sex is like a *legal contract* and if you don't make everything explicit beforehand you can never change your mind about it, at least when it comes to giving consent. Like, a guy suddenly kisses me and I just go with the flow, have hot sex with him and all, that's rape according to that person because in his/her eyes he didn't have my permission to act beforehand. Nevermind my feelings, decisions, thoughts and actions, all that matters is that nutjob's *vibe and perception*.

I always think these theories "erase" sexual assault against men because it assumes a man's consent is unquestionable whereas a woman's consent is always in question.

I'm assuming OP is talking about the crazy extremists who call all penis-in-vagina type sex as rape, regardless if it's consensual (or even if it's stereotypical gentle vanilla lovemaking).

from one of those PIV is rape posts...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"women are literally putting their lives and physical and mental wellbeing on the line, every fucking time they engage in PIV. (sorry! really, i am). if its not the very reasonable fear of being raped at some point during the encounter, its the fear of disease, and the dread, absolute dread of an unintended or unwanted pregnancy. and that last one applies even in wanted encounters with trusted partners, does it not? every single act of intercourse, from somewhat pre-menstruation to somewhat post-menopause. or…until your mate gets his nads snipped…and even then. fear, and dread. foreboding, terror, and bargaining with god. counting the days. because we all know that pregnancy can kill you, or make you very ill, even if you have an early abortion. right? (imagine sitting under your desk at work and puking into a trashcan, if it helps bring it home…not that most women really need a visual. but there is going to be someone on this thread who says they still dont get why PIV is so bad.) this has got to be traumatic, no? i mean, how could it not be? this is a serious question."

So. Fucking. Stupid. IDEK

Re: from one of those PIV is rape posts...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
...So...according to them you can't catch a disease from sex unless you're female, having piv sex - and unwanted piv sex at that? And that puking in a tash can is traumatic?

Re: from one of those PIV is rape posts...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, apparently men's STDs just...appear out of the ether, or something. And all PIV is unwanted even if we want it because we've been groomed to want the D. And apparently if you get pregnant you will literally die, or something along those lines.

That is some seriously poisonous bullshit.

MTE. And the sheer number of comments chiming in saying how much they agree and relate to that post really made me shudder :/

real answer: a great example of what happens when you let the crazies in.

WTF I don't even.

That is some *seriously* batshit, cross-the-street-if-I-saw-them-coming crazy.

*backs away slowly*

You know, this "PIV is traumatizing for every woman because fear of pregnancy!" is both 1) dismissing the existance of trans women and 2) a slap in the face of every woman who desperately wants to conceive and can't.

Not every woman is capable of giving birth. Not every woman (or trans man) thinks childbirth is the most horrible thing that could happen to her (or him). Not to meantion contraceptives exist.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
THIS. So much this.

Re: from one of those PIV is rape posts...

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
How could it not be?, she asks.

Um...because most women don't think of PIV sex with such pathological terror? Even ones who aren't into it and don't want it really don't think of it as all that scary? Because for most women who are into it, it's a perfectly normal part of life, not a source of monsters under the bed? That's how it could not be. Contraceptives exist and they usually work. Condoms really are pretty good at preventing the spread of a lot of the worst STDs.

the very reasonable fear of being raped at some point during the encounter

During a fully-consensual encounter, that's not a reasonable fear at all. In fact, I can't figure out how that would even work.
