Aw, anon, it's okay.

It's been nine years since one of my favorite characters died (I cried, too!) and I'm still not over it, despite the fact that Chris is still alive because of the whole time traveling thing.

Chris from Charmed? I was so pissed about that.

Yes! There was crying and anger.

Definitely not over it.

I still get really sad when I think about Ten being gone. And that hurt has stopped me from watching any of Eleven. Maybe one day, I'll be able to but today is not that day.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Not quite to the tearing up extreme, but I get that way about Fred from Angel. Her death scene was just so fucking sad and depressing and awful. I'm also still upset about Wesley's death, but it wasn't quite the traumatic watching that Fred's was. I don't think I"ll ever really be over it.

I feel that way about Cordy. To this day, I still cannot watch "You're Welcome". It hurts too much.

Also sad about Fred and Wes.

Ugh. I still hate that Fred died because I love her so much, BUT I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT WES. And I rewatched Angel like 2 years ago. Ugh. I must've blocked it.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Fred, Cordelia, and Wes were the only characters I liked on that show. Cordy's death was probably the hardest for me because they just ruined her character with all that Jasmine/Connor stupidity and then they bring her back and give us one last reminder of how awesome Cordelia really was and then...*sniff*

There are three things I never got over, and two of them are unfinished book series. It's fine, OP. But it sucks :(

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
OP I'm still upset about Ianto from Torchwood being fridged. That was also 4 years ago, it really doesn't feel it.

I suppose IRL we wouldn't expect people to stop feeling bereaved after a certain time, and at least you can talk about it, it's a bit harder to discuss not feeling over it when it's a fictional character.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ug, I know exactly what you mean. I'm the same way with Ianto from Torchwood.
Sometimes, a fictional character doesn't really "die" in my headcannon, because fictional characters aren't restricted to linear time, I can always go back and read or watch something where they're alive, and they ARE alive, but with Ianto, he's dead as dead, and I'm still sad about it.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, OP. But no need to feel weird about it. The loss of something from your life that made you happy is still a loss, no matter the medium.
I happen to still miss a few characters from Lost, myself.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel the same way for one of my favourite characters. She was killed off over a year ago, and while I had seen it coming, it was pretty devastating. I've never cried that hard at a death on a tv show or a movie. For a few days I basically felt like I was in mourning. I still get sad thinking of her dying.

It's been 9 months since one member of my OTP died, and I still tear up and get pissed off just seeing icons depicting the death scene. I've learned to detect them in my peripheral vision and avoid them.

Also I don't think I'm really over Xena (over 10 years ago, omg) and Ianto.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm assuming your icon is relevant (based upon the timeframe as well)... *hugs* I'm with you on that one. I had to do a bunch of rewatching of the series recently (for my paperlegends fic) and even early season episodes were giving me the major weepies...

[personal profile] cecilegrey 2013-09-29 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs* Yep, I tear up pretty easily, whether watching old episodes or reading fic. There have been a few PL fics that made me cry practically the whole way through, lol.

hwc: Ace and Luffy from One Piece (One Piece - Luffy and Ace)

[personal profile] hwc 2013-09-28 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I think many people have that one (or more) character death that they can't get over. For me it's Ace from One Piece. It's been what, three years? I just can't muster my old enthusiasm for the manga and have pretty much stopped reading it. And it used to be one of my favourite manga, too. :(

I'm really curious about the identity of the character...

I'm guessing

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Either Ellen or Jo from SPN.

BSG Spoilers?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica. The picture looks like the moment right after she died when Bill Adama put his wedding ring on her finger.

If so, OP, I'm so with you. I still cry whenever I see that ep.

I feel you, OP. I'm still angry about a death from 1998. That was half my lifetime ago. Still not over it.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
I feel you OP.

There's just some deaths I cannot forgive the writers/actors/producers for either.

Jadzia Dax.
Fred and Cordelia.
Laura Roslin and Dualla.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-13 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Would you like me to tell you about Tara? Because its been MORE THAN A DECADE and I'm not "over" anything. All those feels are still there. More bitter, but still just as strong. Ruins my yearly rewatch each time.
