Re: Movie recs?
(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)Dhoom - The best way I can think of to describe this is sort of like a Bollywood version of The Fast and the Furious with motorcycles, random musical numbers, and one scene that was totally ripped off from Ocean's Eleven. Also, the two main characters have the "straightlaced guy and non-straightlaced guy must put aside their differences and work together" buddy cop dynamic going on, if you like that sort of thing. There's a sequel, but I haven't watched it yet so IDK what it's like.
And a not-so-actiony one:
Joe vs. the Volcano - I'm not sure if "abstract" is quite the right word, but I have a feeling you might like it. The plot is impossible to explain without spoiling anything. It's labeled a romantic comedy, but don't let that put you off; it avoids most of the usual romantic comedy clichés that can make that type of movie cringe-worthy.
Re: Movie recs?
I checked out Joe vs the volcano, and it seems harmless and likable, so I'll check it out once my melts from some of the more intense and/or creepier abstract films. :D
