Feels ahoy

But anyway, Mikasa is interesting to me because of how incredibly broken she is. Everyone on the show is messed up and many characters have driving obsession ("I will protect Eren" "I will KILL ALL TITANS" "I will prove myself" "I will cut you into tiny pieces to learn how you work") but Mikasa is special to me because we see hers develop. She's tiny, her parents were just murdered, she's too scared to run or even move and here comes her knight in bright red scarf to save her. But then he gets caught and she's too scared to do anything, but at his motivation she just *snaps* and becomes this stone cold killer. (Look at the cutie pie with her parents, then look at the girl all the boys run from in episode 1. Yikes.)
This is then compounded with the loss of literally everything else in her life (aside from Aramin, but I don't think she was too attached to him at the time). So just her love for everything in her whole life is funneled into Eren and, like a white dwarf, it's density and energy is enormous. I think it's cool and interesting to watch.
One could argue that this is still sexist because it's a lady who is totally obsessed with taking care of a man, and I can't argue. I love it, but if you don't that's ok. That's why it's so cool that there are tons of other cool ladies from which to take your pick. (Hanji, Petra, Annie, Sasha, etc.) Some of them are "traditionally feminine" like Petra, some are not like Annie. It's cool. It's another reason why I like AoT so much.

1) It'll never happen. Or if it does Jean will die the next issue/episode. Watching the show with my bf I kept saying "They're happy, they're confident, aaaand death." These characters can't be happy so it's so doomed and tragic and I LOVE THAT SHIT.
2) Jean crushes on Mikasa. I don't watch a ton of anime or media in general (I go deep, not wide with my interests) so seeing a boy pine after a girl is a little more fun. He thinks she's pretty. Half the world rightly fears her, but he thinks she's pretty. She knows him, she has to, but she has time or energy for romance. Or else she just does not give a single fuck. Either way it leads me to
3) None of that Friend Zone(tm) or Nice Guy Finish Last nonsense. Jean doesn't get pissed at her for not liking him back. Instead he gets even more annoyed with the asshole who takes up all her attention. Eren is a crazy asshole (as much as I love him) so it's good to see people who don't immediately think he's cool. This might be like saying "I like warm water because it doesn't scald my skin" but hey, I takes what I can gets.
4) Mikasa deserves some god damn good fortune. Whoa has her life sucked. And now she has Eren almost as this emotional crutch because she gives her all to him but he is obsessed with his goals. I might be projecting, but I think Jean is capable of standing up to the white hot glare of Mikasa's attention and returning enough to let her back a little. I want my babies to be happy. (See 1)
5) They would have the cutest babies. Obviously Mikasa is the best weapon for humanity besides Levi and Eren (and I bet she'll surpass Levi with more training if only because she started training earlier in life). Jean is no slouch (#6!) but most importantly he's *sane*. He can raise the kids while she kills the titans and train the Rose Corps in 3d gear (or whatever).
6) Attack on Titan abridged.
