Why do people equate "being in love" with "wanting to get laid" as evidence that one character doesn't have feelings for another? Being in love with someone doesn't mean you're always thinking about fucking them. I don't ship Mikasa with Eren at all, but I'm sick of that excuse.

Most people aren't asexual, so if they have feelings for someone they want their dicks/vaginas.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes? but it's not all they want, all the time. It's just one part of being in love, not something that equals it as a full description of someone's feelings. Ergo why it doesn't make sense to say that X can't canonically be in love with Y because X is never shown thinking about wanting to have sex with Y.

People can have sex with people they don't love.

On the flip side, just be cause somebody is in love, it doesn't mean that bedding them is first and foremost on their mind.

Because... sexual attraction?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it really disappoints me that there isn't more platonic male/female friendships in fiction.

Don't think that anon meant platonic, but rather romantic love that's not all sex all the time.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel only a few comms have understood the notion of romantic love without the fucking part.
