Re: what do you consider "older"
(Anonymous) 2013-09-30 02:01 am (UTC)(link)I have a family with a similar age composition to your's and I've been mocked, told I'm "wasting my time" if I'm talking to online friends [who totes don't exist], and basically had it implied I was wasting my life...and I know other people who've gotten that treatment from people in that age range as well. Older people just don't tend to be as comfortable with the internet or spend as much time on it which, in the majority of cases means they don't understand online friendships or communities. I've actually had people [again, in the age range mentioned] admit that, and that it's why they think it's a waste of time.
