The shitstorm that T-Shirt contest has brewed up is just...ugh.

I went into the tags. Saw this certain person posting and have not gone back since. They were awful.

Then I'm glad I didn't go into them myself.

I am gonna make one of those smarmy ass infographics for people who think Tumblr is a fun, accepting place when it comes to opinions. BECAUSE TUMBLR IS NOT A SAFE PLACE! And fandom sure as hell isn't.

WTNV made a T-shirt contest. The creators chose the finalists that could be voted on. One of the categories was Cecil/Carlos. If you know nothing about the show, Cecil is not described for the most part. And while most of the shirts were silhouettes or vague, one shirt had a clearly distinguished Native America Cecil (you may have seen the art in fact).

So now the tags are full of SJWs either yelling at people by telling them they are racist if they don't vote for NA Cecil OR gloating because this means that Cecil is totally 100% Native American so any fanart of White Cecil IS RACIST AND YOU WHITE PEOPLE SHOULD DO DIE IN A FUCKING FIRE!!!!!!!!!

What T-shirt contest? Don't tell me that MTV learned nothing from the last time and had another contest.

Oh, I thought that you referred to Teen Wolf, not to WTNV ^. A while back there was wank when people were submitting other people's pictures for some T-shirt contest. I don't remember that well, because I don't follow the fandom anymore, just saw some overspill. And that MTV fanfic contest got a bit cringe-inducing.

I knew it was going to be trouble when it was announced. It's kind of funny to me when people post long, rambling essays about why they're voting for one shirt over another. People, they're just T-shirts.

I'm kind of glad that I wouldn't be tempted to buy one anyway, but I still dislike most of the choices. They really should have let everyone vote for all of the entries and then put those with the most votes in a final round. They ditched a lot of good, very neutral designs.

I can't even set foot in the tag atm because I get overly tempted to get into the fight and that would just make me upset.

I haven't either. Mostly because I think just reading that stuff would upset me.

Yeah, I was getting really upset last night. Especially with the guy saying you can't be racist against white people while repeatedly shouting that they wish all white people would just die and to drink bleach.
