I'm curious: has anyone tried to start wank over this game on the grounds that it stigmatizes mental illness? (I'm not going to make that argument myself; I'm just easily amused.)

They better not, because it goes out of their way to make it clear that people in the asylum are like that mostly because of the experiments and lack of any order. Not all of them are raging monsters, some are basically comatose, some are hiding and gibbering in fear, some are just... in their own world I guess. You even met some people rational and have the good enough sense to keep out of sight.

I've been in the mental hospital a bunch of times and it's hard for me to relate any kind of nightmare/over the top portrayals of asylums to actual mental illness. So I'd probably play it except for the same reason as the OP -- easily scared.

Although I also don't like to start wank, so there's that.
