I wonder how many people who think they love Whedon actually love one show and assume that it's the writer rather than something about the concept and acting in the series itself. Because I absolutely adore Buffy and Angel, but I've realised it's actually specific to that universe. I liked Dr. Horrible too, but that does have the benefit of only being 45 minutes long (and certainly doesn't have enough in it to be great if it were on every week).

I think Whedon's writing works best for the horror genre. The Cabin in the Woods is one of my favorite movies. I adore Buffy and Angels. But I didn't like Firefly and I didn't care for Dollhouse.
