The paragraphs look too short? That's seriously their reasoning? That is dumb. Dumb dumb dumb.

It's up to you, but seems like you've tried your best and this person just doesn't want to change their ways. I'd say drop 'em and move on.

I'm glad it seems like that to other people, I was a little afraid I was overreacting, but it just seems really stupid, to me. Writing isn't about being aesthetically pleasing, it's about conveying your intent, whether that's a fictional story, or a nonfiction research article, and if you can't do that, people aren't going to care about your story.

I'll give them one more chapter, but if they don't fix it, I will.
