Unlikely, since my situation is pretty similar and our online friendship hasn't really recovered after. On a good day i just boil it down to a clash of personalities, but most days I'm still a little bitter about my guest wasting my time and money.

Well, technically that helps. It could push OP to end the friendship if they know it will never recover if they do nothing about it. Or it could push them to try and talk about it with the friend.
