...Because seeing something that you've experienced but rarely every see talked about/acknowledged [particularly in media] can really hit you?

At least, that's why I felt that way when I saw my mental illness portrayed as not the worst thing in the world/magical power - but almost exactly how I experienced it.

I had a similar reaction to a commercial for a new reality show where one of the cast members has fibromyalgia. It's not something that I've ever seen portrayed in media outside Lyrica commercials, which all feature middle-aged women; the person on the reality show looked young, like me.
