Re: TV Infomercial Stuff: does it work or not?

Mostly I found it's crap but a few things I have liked.

Ped Egg: Works amazingly, I use it at least once a week.
Ove Glove: I swear by these amazing things. I have a really bad habit of burning myself, and while sometimes they can be a bit bulky on your hands, I still love them.
Swivel Sweeper: I've had a few of the models over the years, and it is great for mess like a bunch of cereal on the floor, but won't replace a real vacuum.

Things that didn't work.

Smooth Away: There was no magic disappearing hair
Magic Mesh: The magnets really were not strong enough. I always had to close it by hand.
Slap Chop: Did not chop for crap.

Also awesome things that people forget are infomercials: Pro Activ, Oxyclean, The Clapper & Little giant ladders.

Personally I tend to wait for other people to be guinea pigs then google the reviews after new items have been out a couple months. And I never buy for the phone or their website, cause it seems that way too often people get over or double or triple charged.

My family uses the Slap Chop all the time. Granted ours was from a carnival caller, but same item.
ginainthekingsroad: Oscar & Lucinda at the porthole- "I have gambled for pleasure..." (Oscar & Lucinda- porthole)

I tried Smooth Away too, and it did shit all. I don't know why I expected anything when I bought it at 7-11, buuuut...

That's odd, mine used to work, not full on hair gone but it thinned it out, maybe the Australian market got a better one? :| (I think it had a different name so maybe that's why...)

I think the way you buy these kind of products is wise. I know I've seen "As Seen on TV" sections in stores before, and that's probably much safer than buying online or via phone.
