I saw the first episode of that show last week, and it was painfully bad. I did not bother watching the second today.

(No but really, they look like Arthur and Merlin, only with hair colours switched.)

In the end, I was only watching Merlin because I was morbidly fascinated how bad the entire series and especially the costumes were.

I wanted to like it so I watched the first episode because I have a huge boner for Atlantis, but it just didn't do it for me.

I might try to watch it when it comes on BBCA. Not a fan of BBC though so it's low priority for me.

The show is okay, better than Agents of Shield, but yeah there is plenty of gay shipping of the two secondary leads.

There isn't any women bashing so far, but that is mainly due to the female characters not being given much to do beyond a line or two. They haven't done anything to be bashed for yet.

The slash appeared immediately, and it was pretty blatantly teased in the show and the advertising. The Atlantis Facebook page is even calling Jason/Pythagoras "the new Merthur."

It's pretty nasty to be honest - clearly the PTB have twigged onto the idea that girls like that funny gay stuff so they're packing in as much as they can without the slightest intention of actually making any of it canon.

The saddest thing is, fandom is eating it up. I saw one person state that maybe the male/male pairing will totally become canon this time because it's set in Ancient Greece.

I can't suffer through another Merlin. I kept coming back for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th season, just so I could see what would happen when Merlin revealed his magic. Fuck Merlin. Fuck that show man.

the official twitter was already asking the fans what their ship name was immediately after the first ep, so it was instantaneous. I love Atlantis in general so I want to check this out, though. Is it streaming anywhere?

I have watched the show and been nowhere near fandom until I checked out A03 this morning, where I was pleasantly surprised to see more fic than I expected.

I also declare Jason/Pythagoras as Python, because it's a smush name worth having.

It's a silly show but all three guys are very cute and slashable in any combination. I'm in it for the fun. <3

I love Merlin/Arthur but I hate how the PR is marketing Jason and Pythagoras as "the new Merthur'. It's fucking not. Jason's actor is terrible, and they don't even have a fraction of the UST that Merlin and Arthur had. I do like the other two guys though, and they can do a passable bromance.

Having been exposed to Merlin's bad writing, I enjoyed the second episode a lot more than the first. Maenads man, they be cray.
