The movie is coming out in Japan next February. I was amused by the T&B characters nominated for Yuletide this year. Someone is missing.

I don't know why T&B fandom was such a flash in the pan. Tumblr's short attention span, writers trying to sell fanfic, doujinshi reselling taking over the T&B LJ comm, and something else? There must have been some other reason.

I stopped writing T&B fic because no one was reading it, which was something I expected when writing Yuri/Barnaby, but it turns out not many people were reading gen either.

I think you nailed the reasons spot on. The T&B comm just got taken over with merchandise, and there was rarely any original work or posts. I also don't think This is Sternbild website helped, even though it's pretty awesome, mostly because when fans asked a question on the community, they were usually directed towards TiS.

I think many fans are just waiting to see what'll happen when the next movie drops and if Viz decides to put T&B on toonami, rather than having it streamed.

Personally...I'm not involved in the fandom as I once was...mostly because I had a really bad experience with a few other members of fandom in RL where I was dragged through some crazy drama. I'm still looking forward to the movie though.

(I'm also a fic person. Barnaby/Kotetsu held my interest for so long, and then I needed more. I would love to read any rec's you have for any other ships or gen fic. It's a bit of a mess trying to pick through the community now.)

I stopped reading T&B fanfic because I wasn't interested in Barnaby/Kotetsu, and that's all I could find. If I'd known somebody was writing gen, I definitely would have read it. (I still look for Nathan/Antonio fic every now and then, though, because my love for that ship burns strong and true. There's still only like four fics or something. So disappointed...)

lol, yes. The drama cd where Barnaby steals pudding and Yuri hates on everyone (especially Ivan), inspired me to write angsty drama.
