Source?

Honestly just curious. Do you have an actual source on this?

I had it :CCC But I read it at least a couple of weeks ago, so I can't even remember where I saw it. It's a pity because now I'll be wondering if it's from a legit source or if it was someone making shit up and that REALLY sucks. Gah.

Please spare me from scouring my internet history, I visit hundreds of webpages everyday ;;

sorry. I assume you're telling the truth but somebody (me included) always wants a source so it'd be nice to give one if I ever have to argue this myself and would rather just link and be done.

Sorry, and thanks for believing me :( This bothers me a lot precisely for that same reason. I wish I could find it again but my memory has always been worse than Swiss cheese, and I've been looking at my history and still no dice.

It's okay, your point still stands about names in fiction. It's a good point. Whether the writers came out and said it or not doesn't matter, it's obvious they wanted to give a certain impression based on the name. If they didn't, they were either trying to make a very un-obvious point about race and names, or they were just lazy.

Thanks! Maybe it's because I'm a wannabe-author as well, but the thing about names in fiction is... they don't work like names do in Real Life. There's always a reason when a (good) author chooses a name for a character; and if they had wanted to make Carlos's race unclear or even default-to-white, they would have gone for something more "neutral" (from a US standpoint) than a typical Hispanic/Latino name.

Hell, if we go by World History, he could even be from Filipino descent. But that makes him still a POC!
