I don't know if it's weird or not, but I'm the same way.

In my case, it might have to do with never having been "with it." Like, at all. Ever. So everyone around me going on about things that I don't know/care about is the norm for me and I just kind of tune it out. :P

I'm the same way but I have a massive ego so I tend to prefer that reality conform to my standards :p

Yeah, that might be it. I like things at my own pace, for the most part. So, like, even thought I'm not really interested in watching Dr. Who or Teen Wolf, for example, I don't hate when they show up on my dash.
