People keep saying Sleep Hollow is scary... but I haven't been scared at all. To me its on the cheesy scary level of early spn... but even less scary.

Why you should watch it: awesome female lead, John Cho, and a man displaced out of time for funny hijinks. The storylines aren't too bad either. It's just a fun show with good characters, and lots of shipping possibilities, if that's your thing.

I know that objectively speaking Sleepy Hollow isn't that scary. Honestly, the monsters are kind of cheesy but hotdamn, that show scares the shit out of me. Like the demon the sisters saw in the woods; I know that it looks ridiculous and when we saw it in the distance I laughed at how ridiculous it was too, because hey! The blurry strangely shaped thing isn't scary at a -- PLEASE DON'T COME CLOSER STAY AWAY GAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!eleventyone11!!

Same with the witch and the Sandman. God, the Sandman was awful for me. It's obvious to me how cheesy the demon designs are, but they still scare the crap out of me way worse than SPN or Buffy. It's like playing Slender for me. (Except for this episode. At least this time I fully got to enjoy the cheesy demon design. *smug*)

My response about not being scared wasn't directed at anyone, I swear! Maybe I should have worded it better? Idk.

I can see why it would be scary tho, cheesy or no cheesy. I think the show is good at mind bending things. Making the horror in the mind is always a nice touch! I'm glad other people are getting a good scare :) that's always fun.

Oh, no no, I didn't think that! I just saw your comment and thought I'd add my two cents. I'm sorry if I came across as aggressive or snippy or something - it's, ugh, five o'clock in the morning for me and I haven't been in bed yet. I should probably get on that instead of making an ass of myself on F!S. :/

Making the horror in the mind is probably exactly why the Sandman scared me so much! I hate that kind of horror. *hides behind pillows*

That mirror scene. I was sitting there thinking 'Sigh, the demon guy is getting less creepy the more detail they show, they'd do better to keep him lurking in the shad- AH!' I don't get truly scared often these days, but I love when something manages to startle me, and him flying at the mirror certainly did that.

Yes, the Sandman was bad. If they'd omitted the seam down the front of his face, maybe it would have worked, but he just looked like he was wearing a sock over his head.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED TONIGHT'S.

The fiery pit o' demons was much more well-done, I thought.

I think the mirror scene would have been less nerve-wracking if it hadn't cracked when it came closer. Stupid mirror scene. It's not like it wasn't obvious that something was going to happen but still. It's that sort of blinking in and out of sight/rushing that creeps me out the most.

Yeah? I thought the fiery pit of demons looked more like a slumber party game. "Let's all slip under the blanket and act like we're drunk!" But maybe that's just because the demons didn't scare me and so I could finally appreciate the cheesiness of the designs in full for once. :P
