Re: First world problems

I thought about that, too - I get what you mean and agree to some extent. Most people probably have silly petty problems no matter where you're from.

But on the other hand, I thought "first world problems" were SUPPOSED to be complaining about things you're actually really privileged about, particularly economically. For example "I hate that I need two wireless routers to use the Internet because my house is too big for just one." or "My bf gave me the $1000 designer handbag I wanted, but he picked brown instead of black and I hate the color."

I mean, I thought the joke was that the person knows it's ridiculously stupid and it shows how wealthy/lucky they are. Like, making fun of themselves for complaining about it.

not that it's always used that way, to be fair.
