It's a little surprising Al/Winry wasn't more popular. I always thought it had the potential to be a really sweet, fun pairing, and it would free Ed to do whatever with Roy (although I also shipped Roy/Riza, which leaves poor Ed all alone).

Yes! When I finished watching the first anime, I expected that Al/Winry would be the popular fandom pairing. Imagine my surprise. XD Honestly...Ed/Winry just didn't make any sense to me.
