...They probably don't go on the internet that much. They're probably just regular writers.

I mean, you are aware tropes are tropes because... they're popular writing tools right? I'm just trying to figure out if you know how writing works.

Maybe OP was talking about particular tropes within the fandom? (As opposed to tropes in general.

Yeah, but what I have to stay still stands. They probably used similar tropes because it made the most sense to them or because the fic writers were basing their characters off of this dude's actual writing. In writing it's best to not overcomplicate things. So if two people choose a similar answer/trope it's not that surprising.
