I want to play full-on renegade characters, but I always end up with snarky ones who occasionally push people out of windows (that part in ME still makes me laugh).

I don't think I could ever play full-on renegade Shepard. I just. it would rip my heart

but some of the renegade interrupts are THE. BEST. THINGS.

(I've yet to play a DA game, but I have the first one on Steam, just haven't started it. Looking forward to it and I wonder if I'll feel the same way about playing this character...)

That's my problem too. I try to seperate my morals/emotions from playing video game characters, but it never quite works. (I could never be full renegade in ME3. The scene will Mordin broke my heart enough when I watched a renegade playthrough of it.)

I hope you like DA! To me, the "renegade" choices are a lot deeper/meaner in ME. But the choices in DA are also interesting. I love both my Warden and Shepard, but in different ways.

agh. My friend told me of some of the scenes that could result from renegade decisions and/or not meeting requirements for peaceful outcomes, and I'm really glad I didn't see some of them, holy shit.

I could not bring myself to deliberately sabotage the krogan. It would rip me to shreds. The quariand and geth would be just about as bad. I can't.

...but otoh, shit like killing Kai Leng with that interrupt was THE FUCKING BEST

The renegade options can tare your soul out :( I regret watching the Mordin one.

I couldn't sabotage the krogan either. I love Wrex and Grunt <3

His interrupt was pretty badass.

The Kai Leng renegade scene was one of my top two favorite scenes in the entirety of ME3, the other being the Kalros-Reaper fight scene. It was exhilarating and I made some very loud noises. It was rather like my dad and brother watching our NFL team make a winning touchdown, I think.

If you haven't yet (and want to do the full renegade run), try it with renegade dude!shep. Meer obviously has a lot of fun with the renegade lines, and it bleeds through to lend a lot of the scenes an air of almost cartoonish supervillainy. Not in a bad way - it still fits the game tone - but enough to divorce yourself from things a little more because it goes a little over the top.

Thanks for the tip! I really need to do a bro!shep run anyway heh.

I could never go full renegade, not even with my worst character. I'm too much a wuss and some of the options in ME3 are brutal. That said, some of the renegade interrupts are fucking amazing, including the window one and a certain shanking in ME3. (That one was renegade, right? I seem to remember playing as a hard-core paragon but being unable to pass that one up.)

Hell, some of the paragon interrupts are good for that matter. (Thane's loyalty mission had a good one.)

I think the shanking was renegade. The worst to me was being a renegade and Mordin. I teared up when I saw the renegade version of that particular scene.

Mass Effect just had pretty good paragon/renegade choices in general I thought.

As if the Mordin scene wasn't bad enough without the renegade option! That to me was one of the most despicable things you could do in the game; I felt sick just watching it.

I don't know how anyone got through playing that scene. Even if he's fictional, my concious would have been a wreck. Just looking at you icon makes me feel sad thinking about it.

The shanking happens either way, the details are just different. The interrupt option's the more satisfying one, though.
