Your supervisors will definitely get it if you have a doctor's note in hand. Have you seen how they deal with other people who have temporary medical issues? That could offer you some cues as to how they'll respond. A doctor's note would be gold though.

Unfortunately, I don't think the office will provide a doctor's notes, but my supervisors are pretty understanding. We've had to do a lot of rescheduling each other in the past week, so they'll probably be okay if I just have one day where I'm not available.
