the white/Hispanic mixed race relationship is a far more diplomatic representation than just making everyone white, or the opposite. We show two races that very much exist in our country joining in a romantic manner, like a peace treaty. How is that not wonderful?

They don't actually want people peacefully coexisting. Seriously. They tend to want all the races separated so nobody is contaminated.

This is the political reason a White/Hispanic mixed race relationship appeals to me, the other one being more dynamic fanart.

It's kind of nice having a white Cecil who, upon first seeing Carlos, goes "OMG HE'S A SCIENTIST! AND HE'S SO HANDSOME! Dear listeners, I fell in love immediately"; instead of the usual dynamics of a White/Hispanic couple we see in media in which there's an unbalance in power that favors the white half of the couple. Hispanic or Latino Carlos, The Scientist? It's really forward. If I took a shot whenever I saw something with a Latino/a character who's an illegal immigrant or day laborer or something like that, that ends up ~falling in love~ with the Mighty Upper-class Whitey (bonus points if it's their boss), I'd end up with alcohol poisoning.

Nothing against that, but making it interracial with one half of the pairing being white is more appealing for me on a aesthetic level, I enjoy visual contrast in fanart. Diferent strokes, etc. It's not always a matter of internalized racism :/
