Leverage. Despite my love of the show, and despite the fact that I'm pretty sure my love of the show predates my hearing the song for the first time, it always makes me sing a bit of BNL's "Elf's Lament" in my head.

We're used to repetition
So we drew up a petition:
"We the undersigned feel undermined
Let's redefine employment"
We know that we've got leverage
So we'll had the fat man a beverage
He'll sit back while we attack
The utter lack of our enjoyment

That is, the word "leverage" does that to me, not the show. That could have been clearer. I am also incapable of hearing the phrase "chain of command" without instantly mentally following it up with "It's the chain I get and beat you with until you figure out who's in ruttin' command!" And I don't even like Firefly.

Great song.

It's one of a small handful of Christmas songs that are on my list of "I am willing to listen to this at any point in the year."

Hrm. I don't remember that from Leverage, but then I missed a lot of episodes.

*points above* It's the word, not the show itself. I was trying to say "There's a really obvious association you'd think I'd make with the word but I don't," and it came out weird.

I read that wrong. I apologize, I am still feeling blah from being sick this week.
