Re: Nonfandom Confessions

Sometimes I think I would be much happier if I were a man, but I don't think I feel strongly about this to count.

See I feel the exact opposite. That I'd be significantly happier if I was a woman.

We should swap bodies for a couple of days.

Re: Nonfandom Confessions

(Anonymous) 2013-10-10 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
That's pretty much how I feel about it. If I had a choice I would hands down choose to be a man, but I didn't get a choice so I'll just make do with what I've got. Don't care enough to really do anything about it.

I would def transition if they ever made it something you could do without people almost immediately knowing and the results being a hack job at best.

ayrt

Oh for sure if it was some magical science that auto transitioned you full on I'd go for it. But the process at the moment...no.

If there was some kind of magical science that made transitioning automatic and painless, I assure you I'd be changing to whatever gender I felt like at the moment.

Since such a thing doesn't exist, I'll stick to dressing in a kind of androgynous way and the ocassional crossdressing.

I'm happy being a woman, but I know damn well I would have had a much happier childhood--hell, perhaps even friends--if I'd been a boy.

People are much kinder to ugly boys.

I think that too.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-10 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, this.

i'm certainly not trans, I feel perfectly comfortable as a woman- but I'm certain my childhood & teenage years would have been a lot less crappy if I'd been a guy.

Agreed on that. It all worked out for me once I reached adulthood and found value in other things about myself, but man did it suck being an ugly girl.

Word. Being an ugly girl is fucking hard. Double bonus if you're an ugly, nerdy girl.

Though even if I had retained my over-all personality, the different attitude of everyone towards me would have changed me into (I imagine) a guitar-playing insufferable douchebag of a hipster; so idk. Maybe I dodged a bullet.

Ha! Same here.

I was desperate to be liked. Give alternate universe Chardteen a situation where people liked her for her looks and I'm not sure she would have hit the books so much. One of the reasons I ended up brainy is that I knew damn well my brain was the only thing other kids respected. They could make fun of my looks and my speech impediment but nobody ever called me stupid.

God, I might've been a bimbo.

Not gonna lie, I shuddered at the thought of a bimbo Chard :'D

I was desperate to be liked too, but had drilled onto me from an early age that the only thing of value ever was my brain (which fucked me up seven ways to sunday); but I get what you mean when you say "They could make fun of my looks and my speech impediment but nobody ever called me stupid."

Now, male!Lynx? Basically same intellectual/artistic leanings? I would've been that kind of dude that would woo ladies (if straight) by writing poetry and singing leftist trovadour songs with an accoustic guitar; and would have revelled and abused his power. I've done performances as a Drag King. So I know I'm an ugly girl, but I do make a weirdly attractive guy, specially if you like the megane type. Would've rocked a goatee so hard, too.

Real quick, when you posted that picture of your purple hair a couple weeks ago it took me about three days to convince myself you're not my super-sexy ex-girlfriend. You have the same eye shape, same mouth, jawline. But she's not from Colombia and is about ten years older (based on the thread above, re: weed).

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you, you are very attractive. Of your own merit, too, not just because you remind me so strongly of someone else. XP; You have a beautiful face, a great little grin (haven't seen your full smile when you laugh, so I can't speak to that), and a vibrant, sparkling personality. I don't think you're ugly. I'd pick you out of a crowd in a second. And then stumble over myself trying to make conversation enough to get your attention in return.

So, yea... Just had to put that out there.

Oh wow. Not gonna lie, you made me blush IRL, Anon. I'm not used to being complimented in such a corteous way. So I don't know what to say, except, thank you. You really made my day, y'know? So despite being still kind of at a loss of words, I couldn't left this unanswered, it was too nice.

I bet you're an amazing person. You'd have my attention for sure (and then we could be awkward together, heh. In a good way!). Thanks. :3

*^^* You're welcome. I'm honestly just glad you think it's nice and not creepy! I'm def awkward around people I think are cute, so the backspace button is my friend around these parts, but I couldn't let it stand when you said you're an ugly woman. But I'm gonna stop while I'm ahead (this is the part where I start staring at my hands trying to think of something not awkward to say, haha!).
