It took me an embarrassing long time to figure out that porn is real. Like, when I was fifteen. To be fair, I was a pretty sheltered kid with no home internet access or cable.

II just bought a car and there was a hot finance guy that I talked to and I have a weird fucking crush on him and it's kinda sad..I even tried to stalk him on facebook, god I'm creepy. But anyway, I will never see him again since I just took home my car *sigh* He probably has a wife or something..

Porn confession upthread reminded me of this one. I had a friend in college who was openly into the BDSM scene for a long time before I knew what that meant. When she talked about how she was "submissive" and needed to find someone "dominant," I thought she was just talking about personalities. She even checked once if I "knew what she meant by that" and I was like um... yeah? But I didn't. I only thought it was a little weird that she was defining personality types so rigidly.

I can't believe I got through high school without knowing.

I'm not going to tell my parents I had a seizure. This is probably a shitty idea, especially since I will be working for them over the Columbus Day break, but...

My dad is already ill, and they're fighting to hold onto their business; my sister is a hypochondriac, and with all of this, I just am not going to spring, "Surprise! Maybe epilepsy!?" onto them.

At my job, it's fine to hang out on the Internet on your phone if nothing is going on. But the kind of work I do, I'd probably be instantly fired.

I can't navigate in my own hometown. I just suck at directions and remembering street names. I don't even know some of the street names around my house - I just do everything with landmarks.

and my city is pretty tiny.

I don't think we, as a general community, are as nice and accepting as we pretend to be. There are some nice people here, and maybe we're better than many places on the internet but we can get pretty nasty and ignorant.

I'm not whining. I'm not sure I'd even like it if it was super nice. I just think we shouldn't pretend it's something that it isn't.

I get so annoyed listening to my friend always talking about herself and her life. There's literally always new shit and drama in her life.

She's 'obsessed with working out' and working out for 3 hours a day almost every day and eating one piece of fruit for each meal, and I tell her that's unhealthy as fuck. Then a few days later she tells me how she's passed out but ignores me when I tell her it's because of her diet and constant stress she puts on her body. All she cares about is how she lost 8 pounds in a few weeks and she wants to lose 20.

This is only one thing, she seems to have 5 other things going on at the same time she has to talk about. Bouncing between her parents' houses to make it seem she's living with the other, getting another concussion, doing dancing until 11 pm, boyfriend drama, having a new man-friend (while she was still in a relationship, I'm unclear about but I still feel uncomfortable with)... It goes on.
Our conversations are always 80% about her telling all the same things or new updates. I've tried to call her on some shit but she doesn't want to listen, like her health. She also wants me to help her with school work when I have my own shit to do and uses her ADHD every time she doesn't listen to something. And she wonders why I'm not sympathizing anymore.

I want to be straight so bad. I keep trying to tell myself that I am even though I know deep down that I'm not but I just don't know how to come to terms with the truth and there's no way in hell I could ever admit it to anyone else.

Any time I hear someone talk about their tokophobia and how grossed out they were to see a pregnant person on TV, I just want to tell them to grow up. And I know tokophobia is a real thing, so I feel bad for feeling that way, but I just do.

I'm a woman and I don't get rid of any of my body hair but on special occasions when I'm trying to look nice I'll wear long socks. The confession part is that I feel like a hypocrite -- I should either own it or go ahead and shave it.

I love the way I look, I love my body, but I have somehow got it into my head that I would be the hottest person alive if I put on some weight. I probably would, too, because I have pretty rockin' curves now and if I gained weight they'd likely only get more pronounced. (Secret because this sounds really dumb and/or really conceited depending on how you read it.)

A friend of mine let me down when I turned to her for comfort, and I never said anything to her about it because I kinda knew she didn't mean to. She probably didn't know how she could help me and handled it poorly. But I never quite forgave her either, and so the subsequent drifting began. Part of me is glad I never said anything, because I might have found out she just didn't give a shit and that would've permanently ended things, but maybe we'd still be best friends instead of people who occasionally remember to reply to one anther's emails. :(

I'm still not sure if I escaped from an emotionally abusive relationship or was just selfish and abandoned a suicidal friend. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle but that's not really a reassuring thought either.

I feel horribly insecure about admitting this but...okay

I'm a writer I have a major work with a major set of characters I use a lot. I write a few AUs (and I do tend to have really bad creative ADD which doesn't help) with these characters. and I tend to stick to a case of familiar characters because I've put so much into them.

I showed a friend one of my little AU things and they suggested (nicely) making it it's own thing. That's when I realized this. I've been feeling it before though. and I get this horrible feeling that people look at my profile on A03 with these characters and are just sick of me.(or just want me to finish something).

I used to have better luck with focusing when I was on a medication for ADHD symptoms, but it became too expensive to pay for. I just feel like I'm being crushed by all these possible ideas and my own lack of attention and I worry I'll never finish my own works.

I'm a mess....
