Re: Fanfic in German?
Re: Fanfic in German?
(That didn't occur to me about wizarding terminology. I wonder if there's a good way to look it up.)
Re: Fanfic in German?
Anyway, in case you ever do want to read something longer the first one I thought about was Der Herr der Zeit, but it's over 300,000 words long. (HP/DM, IIRC) By the same author is the one-shot Jäger der Nacht (HP/DM); I haven't read that one but it's on the favourite list of an author I used to like. I'm 99% sure that that author is Witchcraft, but I remember her for her Harry/Bill fic which I now can't find again and all her HP fics seem to be HP/DM. You can check her favs list to see if something grabs your fancy.
(Some translations are completely self-explanatory - the Leaky Cauldron is Der Tropfende Kessel, the Shrieking Shack is Die Heulende Hütte. Trickier are things like pensieves (Denkarium). But the internet and fandom being what they are, somebody compiled a handy list!)
(JFC dreamwidth, stop pissing me off!)
Re: Fanfic in German?
Thank you so much for the list, too! That's exactly what I was looking for.
(And now I know how to say Regurgitating Public Toilet in German... Yay?)
I was thinking of getting an account, but I don't know if anyone wants reviews in somewhat bad German from an American. (I actually do have a bandom fic I wrote in German that my friend edited but putting it up would probably seem weird too.)
