I hadn't seen fans being jerkbuggies until people here mentioned it (and linked to the Tumblrs and whatnot), so on one hand I think throat jumping is probably less common than it seems from the outside but throat jumping period pretty much sucks so.

I kind of get it though because, say, when I went to a con, the first Cecil I recognized (purple shirt, blond wig, third eye), I was like 'Hey! It's a Cecil! How about that?' but the fifth, I felt like it was kind of boring that they were all blond. So I get wishing for more diverse representations of Cecil from the standpoint that I'd appreciate the fanart.

I find it funny that they "dress up as Cecil". You know a character who we don't what they look like. They could literally look like anyone. It's the lazy halloween costume where you go as yourself and say, 'oh no, I'm dressed up as Cecil.' The only thing you might need would be a microphone.

I'm so sorry :(((( If it's of any use, I swear not all of us are like that. It just happens there's a quite unhinged minority that's VERY VOCAL, but they don't even represent an important percentage of the people in WTNV fandom.

The podcast is cool, and reading the transcriptions is cool, and yesterday I got recced an amazing fic that doesn't even mention Carlos or Cecil. There's so much to explore, really. It saddens me these guys are so shitty it makes the rest of us appear bad.

I've never seen anybody say "maybe when they mean dark, they mean not sheet white white person" but rather "dark doesn't have to mean "pitch black"" but yeah, you can probably twist every argument to make it seem racist when you really want it to be.

Can we please all do an effort to stop this hive-mind moral panic? I'm getting tired as fuck of seeing variations of this secret daily.

Guidelines for the WTNV fandom:

- There's no canon appearance for Cecil. Go nuts, just don't be a dipshit to others about their headcanon.

- Don't engage with the rabid SJWs - they have the behaviors of tried-and-true trolls, with the sanctimonious believing of a Knight Templar about their causes. Talking to them will cause you to lose time and quality of life.

- The more secrets we make about this, the more this wank will last. Let it go so it will be able to die out eventually.

- Don't go into the tags at Tumblr.

- Tumblrsavior is your friend.

PS: I've had an amazing time in WTNV fandom. Seriously, it can be really cool. Don't pay attention to idiots, and you'll be fine.

Maybe it's because I'm also in the Homestuck fandom so I've gone through trials by fire before. But tuning out the idiocy of what really amounts to a handful of nutcases with megaphones, and concentrating in the amazingness of the majority of the fandom can do wonders for your fandom experience.

Yes to all of this. And I wish people would tag their WTNV cosplay so I could TS it too. It may well be cute to all your friends but I don't want to see it at all. I like my no-face Cecil as is, thank you very much ;)

I have always imagined Cecil looking, well...like Cecil Baldwin. Am I doing it wrong? Carlos, however, looks like Santiago Cabrera.
