How was work for you today

I'm interested!

We always seem to have such an interesting range of careers today.

Tomorrow is my last day before I move to a better job. I can't wait to leave these assholes.

Excellent! I work outdoors for the most part and it was a lovely sunny day and surprisingly warm.

horrible. I am going to quit even though I have only been here for a week.

the sad thing is that I can't tell how much of my hatred of it is real and how much is the result of my crippling depression

Fucking amazing. Still buzzing right now.

On the downside, that was day eight of ten hour shifts (with overtime on half of them) and I have to be in tomorrow in about six hours - and I haven't eaten or showered yet, which I need.

There was a last minute customer about an hour before we close, and then I couldn't balance the cash right so I just left it.

horrible. i work as a waitress in one of the most visited places of my country and today we had a concert nearby. well, people entering and leaving the concert hall all together are not nice. not when you have to serve like 30 tables all together and they want to order/pay the bill at the same time.
fortunately, this is the last concert till december. I CAN BREATHE!

also tips were horrible because i live in a country where leaving tips is not customary and my clients don't know they pay me nothing ahahahah

today was pretty horrible. my one coworker who is sort of a partner is very loud. I have confronted him about this in the past and today was pretty bad so I tried to be polite and he basically came back and yelled at me as though I am the only one who has the problem and it is all my fault.

I love what I do, I'm just frustrated at my job. I love my one boss and most of my coworkers.

Random question, which you don't have to answer me, why do you have to pick up your paycheck?

Background I guess: Over here in icefuckingcoldland (also known as Norway), you get your money deposited directly into your bank account and they either hand out or send you (post or email) your hours and so on, and everytime I hear about picking up paychecks I get confused, because it isn't done at all, I think I have seen like one check in my life tbh, and that was a gift thing.

I haven't set it up for my paycheck to be directly deposited yet, so I had to get it and do it myself. I was told I would have to wait a little while after I started working before I can do it.
But soon I'll be able to set it up online and it will be all good.

Had six hours left I was allowed to work this week. Spent the first two copy-pasting one section of code I wrote yesterday and changing the variable names so that there would be a couple near-identical sections on the form I was coding, then largely copy-pasted another bit of code to make it submit the same data to a database as well as sending an email. So that was pretty dull... but then I ran through it a few times for bug testing, and NO BUGS AT ALL. Worked exactly as planned the first time, on every combination of things I could think of that might cause conflicts. Really darned proud, since I only started coding like a year ago, on the job, because I was starting to pick it up from tweaking other people's work. Feels like I've started to actually GET IT now.

Spent three hours hoping someone would reply to my email going "Hey, this thing is done to the client's specifications - does the client want it to have any other functions they just didn't mention up front? Should I email the client and have them test it?" But no one did... so I clocked out early, took a nice hot bath, and have an hour left to tweak the thing tomorrow if anyone feels like actually giving my department timely feedback. ;)

Preeeetty sure that if I'd had a knife in my hand the day would have ended with someone getting shanked.

It was not a good day. :/

I reek of smoke from working in a smoke shop all day.

I have to shower the moment I get home and wash my clothes or the smell just lingers.

But I love the clientele and I do enjoy working there so I put up with it.

Pretty normal, but it ended quite well. I work in a bra boutique where I spent an hour past closing fitting someone, but I got a huge hug at the end cause she was so happy. And she wasn't anxious like the last person who stayed five minutes past closing, so it was fun for her. She kept asking if this normally happens, women finding out they fit into a different size and feeling so good about it? I told her it happens more often than one might think.
