Re: How was work for you today

Had six hours left I was allowed to work this week. Spent the first two copy-pasting one section of code I wrote yesterday and changing the variable names so that there would be a couple near-identical sections on the form I was coding, then largely copy-pasted another bit of code to make it submit the same data to a database as well as sending an email. So that was pretty dull... but then I ran through it a few times for bug testing, and NO BUGS AT ALL. Worked exactly as planned the first time, on every combination of things I could think of that might cause conflicts. Really darned proud, since I only started coding like a year ago, on the job, because I was starting to pick it up from tweaking other people's work. Feels like I've started to actually GET IT now.

Spent three hours hoping someone would reply to my email going "Hey, this thing is done to the client's specifications - does the client want it to have any other functions they just didn't mention up front? Should I email the client and have them test it?" But no one did... so I clocked out early, took a nice hot bath, and have an hour left to tweak the thing tomorrow if anyone feels like actually giving my department timely feedback. ;)
