I think a question of how will it benefit you is one you should ask yourself. Why are you doing this? How much will cost you, can you be able to afford it, realistically.

If you can afford it and it will help you in you future, then I say go for it.

i'm working really hard at the moment and saving everything for my studies, so, yeah, i think i could afford it. also, i have my parents who are willing to support me (i'm very lucky. i have the best family!)

i think i'll do it because i actually LOVE studying japanese. i think it's one of the most beautiful and complex language ever spoken and i'm really interested in their culture (no, not only animangu, but i love their literature and history and twisted philosophy).

for the future... well, i love in one of the most visited place of my country and lots of tourists here are japanese so yeah, knowing japanese a lot better would help me even here.

but ugh, i'm still scared ahaha

Like I said, if you have a plan, I say go for it. Try and see what the requirements are to be hired as a guide in your area and make connections before you would leave on this journey. Perhaps you might be able to negotiate a deal with a local company to have a job when you get back being a local tourist guide. That might be a better start.

Good luck if this is what you're interested in, just be very cautious.
