Re: anon seeking advice
I mean actually living in a foreign country for a year, and one as completely different as Japan, is a huge life experience. At the very worst unless you have other real plans you hate it, but grow as a person.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-11 12:43 am (UTC)(link)also, i lived in japan for three months last year and they were the best and the worst time of my life. i mean, it was VERY hard since i entered a university programm and it was very strict, but i really loved the challenge and it felt wonderful knowing so many things. I also loved travelling even though i had only 5 days of vacantions. ...yeah, that programm sucked. i studyed for like 10 hours a day.
Re: anon seeking advice
If you can afford it and it will help you in you future, then I say go for it.
Re: anon seeking advice
(Anonymous) 2013-10-11 12:50 am (UTC)(link)i think i'll do it because i actually LOVE studying japanese. i think it's one of the most beautiful and complex language ever spoken and i'm really interested in their culture (no, not only animangu, but i love their literature and history and twisted philosophy).
for the future... well, i love in one of the most visited place of my country and lots of tourists here are japanese so yeah, knowing japanese a lot better would help me even here.
but ugh, i'm still scared ahaha
Re: anon seeking advice
Good luck if this is what you're interested in, just be very cautious.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-11 03:47 am (UTC)(link)You can find quite a few Japanese language schools, the only problem you'll have as a foreigner is getting a visa. Some schools DO offer visas, though, but do your research and compare prices to make sure they aren't charging too much. It can get expensive, especially considering the high cost of living, so if I were you I'd work and study Japanese at the same time. If you're a native English speaker or at least fluent, teach English - it's super easy to get a job, pay (depending on the company) can be pretty good for the amount of time and effort you put in, and some schools might even be able to give you or help you find Japanese lessons.
If you have any specific questions, I'm happy to try to help. I lived in Tokyo, by the way, and speak Japanese conversationally. Definitely go for it! Just remember to save a lot of money before you go, or get yourself a job. Preferably both!
