OP here... Apparently he's living in New Mexico, but I guess knowing that doesn't change much? I should have expected there's nothing that can be done--everything else I've read has said that too--but it's difficult to accept.

I think your theory's right on the mark. I hear about things like this and I feel guilty, like, maybe I could have done something--even though that's irrational.

Anyway, I do hope he's lying, for whatever reason. It'd at least be better than the alternative.

I'll be sure to remember that FBI thing.
