AWWWWW. That is so cute. I don't think it's anything to be embarrassed about, actually. I have had so many crushes on fictional characters from books and felt honestly crushed when either the book ended or something bad happened to them. Why should it be different when your crush is made of pixels instead of print?

I'm a little weirded out by the idea of developing a crush on something you created yourself, no matter what you made it out of.

Think of it like crushing on a fictional character from a book you'd written. It's essentially the same thing, but it might not seem as weird.

Nope, still seems just as weird.

If anything, I find the Sim less weird than the book character, because the Sim's development is not totally under your control.

I don't find it strange at all.

I find it odd to imply that it's acceptable to have a crush only on other people's creations.

It's not like anybody's getting hurt, so I wouldn't call it unacceptable. Just... I don't know. Maybe I don't understand how crushes work.

No I'm with you, it's a little weird.

What weirded me out was when other people had crushes on my characters in my original works. One was obsessed.

Years from now, alien archaeologists will uncover this secret and display it in the Intergalactic Museum of Earthling Culture. This was humanity in the 21st century, they will say.

Couldn't you still try to recreate him or would that not be the same?

Some lost sims are quite hard to recreate. If they're not based on another sim and you worked them up by total random experimentation, it's going to be difficult repeating that product.

I had the good fortune of being able to remake a sim I'd lost, but I do believe a good deal of that was luck and that my tastes in looks have certain patterns.

You can't really if they were born in game. Like, say he was the son of two randomly generated townies or something. That's not something easy to recreate. Even if he were the son of two CAS characters that are saved somehow, the genetics would be rerolled if you tried to recreate his birth.

I know the pain of losing beloved Sims all too well.

I have a bit of a crush on my icon's son. He's heavily based on Mortimer Goth (with a few adjustments so he's not quite as squinty and his jaw os slightly finer).

I wish my game would damn well work, I want to play with Mareph again.

Mortimer Goth is a freaking hottie in Sims 3.

That's exactly the reason I used him as the base for Mareph.

The beard is something I once did while playing Mortimer, and it's remained a lingering habit that crossed characters.

I also never took Mortimer and Bella all that seriously until I saw what they looked like once they hit their teens. Then I started shipping it.

When I play Sunset Valley I always make sure Mortimer and Bella hook up and have Cassandra. Their family is like a Sims institution. I can't not ship it.

Mareph is very attractive! I like his name too.

Exactly how I think - it's practically blasphemy not have them together!

Mareph and Oraania (his mother) are part of a long, involved story I've had for years. Making sims of them gave me a lot of inspiration that expanded on their personal stories. I like having faces for them, and ones of the quality S3 was able to give me.
