Yeah, but it is hard to write a fanfic about Michael Myers. He has little character development beyond "always walking too slow on screen but super speed when off screen while carrying a machete."

i don't think that's true tbh. michael myers might not be the most nuanced character, but he has more character development than some characters that have fanfic written about them. there are a few things that could be written about...

what were michael's years in the mental hospital like?
what was michael's home-life like as a child?
is dr loomis right - is michael really the embodiment of evil in human form, or is he just a guy with some serious childhood trauma?
why does michael want to kill his family?
is there a reason he doesn't use a gun to shoot people, even when given the chance?
michael never kills dr loomis when given the chance - is that just luck on loomis' part, or does michael have some affection for him?

etc...

There are horror cons and ton of horror fan films (here's a really good and very recent Friday the 13th fan film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeQGPla0Vfg), I'd say there's a hugely active fandom for horror it just doesn't look the same as other fandoms. Probably not so much slash or fem slash stuff yes but there's a lot out there for the horror fan to celebrate with with their fellow horror fans.

There is a fandom, there are cons and there are fan works... they're just a bit different.
