Never knew it was rude. But hey, if you're really struggling why not cosplay from a video game that comes from the Japanese or Korean markets or something. (I'm assuming you're into at least one?) Or maybe since you used to be into anime maybe you can cosplay one of your old favorite shows?

Fact is though, you could cosplay the Doctor at an anime and no one will care. I took a picture of one at a con once. I had to ask him if that's who he really was because it confused me at first but once he confirmed my guess I was right on board.
